One of the best things about being a church planter here at Kinetic Church, in Charlotte NC, is the tremendous honor we have in getting to work with some of the most amazing people who are preparing to step into church planting. Chris and Lindsey Woolard and their family have interned with us at Kinetic all year long anticipating planting their new church in Wilmington, NC.
Our kids love their kids and their kids love ours. We have become friends and Kingdom team mates over the last 12 months. Having Chris on staff this year didn’t just bless and train him and his family. He helped make it possible for Dave and I to go on Sabbatical this summer and his contributions to Kinetic have been invaluable. But here comes the worst part, this weekend is the Woolard’s going away party and it’s time for them to move on. Even though we knew they were interning for only a year, it will still be hard to say goodbye. (I just might have to visit them often, especially since they will be at the beach!)
I think one of the best and worst things about ministry is knowing that God can and will move us where He sees fit. So here is where I trust the vision that God has put in Chris and Lindsey’s heart for Wilmington. I am so excited about the impact they will make there and I pray that their influence will bring many people to Christ. But I will still miss them. I will still be a little sad that they couldn’t stay. (My youngest boys are really sad, they love you Silas!)
Our tag line here at Kinetic is, “Disciples Making Disciples.” We preach on it, we teach on it and we encourage the members of our body to do it. What an honor to live it, “Disciples that make Disciples,” as we work with and send out future church planters!
